My suggestion would be to first call the alternator's manufacturer for a copy of the STC. They should have the serial numbers to which they were issued. Then have your mechanic inspect the installation and submit the STC. No STC on file? Get the checkbook out. Always keep a copy of the paperwork sent to the feds.
