The use of explosion proof and self sealing fuel tanks is quite common in many vehicles. Their used on military aircraft and vehicles quite universal. Instead of the restricted drain path, such as it is suggested by the metal foil,it is made of a polyurethane foam with interconnected cells. It provides a restricted fire path but a positive fuel flow as all the cells are inteconnected. I would think that inserting it in the fuel tanks is just a matter of getting it done and probably Skyport should look for STC into it if some are worried about fire. Source for material suggestion is ATL, Inc. in NJ. Whatever you put in the tank, it will add weight, reduce capacity and cost plenty (with the poly that is). (I have no connection to Skyport or ATL).
