Tandy,
Have you tried cutting around the lense with a razor blade or X-Acto
knife? You may want to remove the entire Grimes fixture from the
airplane and work on it at home.

Guys - I need some help with a problem I have in replacing the burned
out blulb in the left wing nav light - the red one.
Sometime ago someone used what I believe to be a silicon to seal the
Grimes red nav light. Now, that that bulb has burned out I find
it impossible to remove the red glass lens. The bale that holds the
lens in moves easily but there is apparently no way to grab to red
lens itself to remove it.
Any ideas will be appreciated. Although I don't actually need the nav
lights as I never fly at night I would like to replace the burned out
bulb.
