I keep missing that - however, there was never any such thing as a C/D.

There is the C and there is the CD and there is the D, etc.

I've heard of some cases where some mechanic filled out the conversion
paperwork incorrectly to change a C to be a "C/D" and that could leave
someone with a Sport Pilot mess to resolve.

Maybe it would save the day if all mention of 1400 lb. gross weight were
missing from the paperwork since, after all, a "CD" is still 1260 lb. gross
weight. (Until getting the 1320 lb. GW STC of course.)
