The principle is the same. Does all the fuel drain back, or does it just
drain back to a specific level? What is that level?

Try shutting the valve off that feeds the fuel pump. If this changes things
then the check valves in the pump are leaking, although the fuel should not
drop much because the outlet in the header is high up in the tank.
Otherwise, cracks in the pipes below the normal fuel level can allow fuel
back through either the feed or the overflow line.

Subject: [ercoupe-tech] Fuel system for M-10

A Friend is having a problem with the fuel system on his Mooney M-10. Could
someone describe the differences in the fuel systems for the 415 series
aircraft and the M-10.

He say' the header tank is draining back into the mains after he shuts down.
I know how the 415C series fuel systems work but have never been around a
M-10 so don't know

the differences.
