Linda;
Not too difficult, have a look at the 4000 series Camloc
http://www.milspecproducts.com/4000C-lock.htm . Your mechanic will drill out
the old receptacle and replace them, then change the "mickey mouse ears" to the
Philips-type of the Camloc. He may do this as a logbook entry or submit a 337,
according to how he determines the change. I mention this because usually
whenever a 337 is submitted, your invoice will be higher.

Also, on the "project" Ercoupe for $5500, yes it's a good buy if there's an
engine and prop, and the wings are good. Remember that the spars also corrode
on the rag wings, too! I don't get Coupe Capers so I can't comment past that.
Whenever considering a project, don't forget to factor in the delivery. That
should be a great deciding factor of whether or not the deal is right.

  Subject: [ercoupe-tech] cowl fasteners

  Typically, what is involved, and what does it cost, to change from
  Dzeus fasteners (am I spelling that right?) to something that is
  easier & opens/closes more reliably?
