Hi Jerry,
Welcome back. It's nice to here from you again. As for the gross weight raise, it's from 1260 to 1320 lb., not 1300. And, as for looking for a nice C or CD, you're about the 100th person who's asked about them. Lots of seekers, and not many airplanes. But, good luck, I hope you are able to find a nice one. Only one Ercoupe is listed for sale in the December issue of Coupe Capers, and he doesn't say which model it is, but it sounds like it would be a C by the serial number. He's in Ohio. The guy's number is 740-369-3608, cell 740-272-6296.

Hello Folks -

After a year or so of absence I joined this group today. The last I as in
communication was back when we had the old email list.

I sold my D model back in 1998 to get a Piper Pacer (the worst of all of the
dozen or more airplanes I've owned).

After getting 2 stents in 2004, I bought a 65 hp Champ, then traded that one for an 85 hp Champ that is highly modified with an electrical system, radio,
and transponder, but it still meets the LSA qualifications.

We use this Champ at our FBO for SP training, and it's flying about 300
hours a year as a rental. We've had a few people get SP licenses in it, but it mainly rents to people who already have a private or higher certificate,
but who are exercising SP privileges. In fact, it's flying so much that I
hardly ever get to fly it.

I've been giving thought to picking up a nice C or CD model Ercoupe for my
personal use, since the Ercoupe can go x-c (the Champ is just too slow), and
still fit within the LSA limitations.

Has anyone performed the new STC to raise the MGTOW up to 1300? May not
sound like much gain, but every pound's increase has some value.

If you hear of any REALLY NICE C or CD for sale, please let me know. I
don't want any junk or projects, and I really don't want metalized wings.
Rudder pedals would be a plus, but not an absolute requirement.

But I would be interested in a first class airplane, having learned a long
time ago that you're money ahead to buy the best airplane of its type you
can find, rather than getting something less and trying to improve/restore
it yourself.

Thanks, and I look forward to being "in the group" again.

Happy New Year to all,
