I've been chastised in the past by those who obviously know more than I about
everything in life, but I'll again say that a strong owner's group should be
able to make a very strong case for this one thing. ALL owners should be
willing to ante up to fund the cause and THAT may be the single most problem at
this time stopping any progress, whether real or proposed, introduced to make
this happen. I don't think it fair for one or even a few of the owners out
there to take this on by themselves so that the rest could benefit.

This story telling will go on for years the absolute absurdity of it all (on
both sides) depresses me every time I see it.

  ED, Woody,
I was at a IA. renewal 2 years ago. The Faa was talking about not
being able to change planes to fit in this group. After his talk I
went up and talked to him. And yes he was on the side of the coupers,
but his exact words were we can thank the C120-140 club for wrecking
it for us. They were still working out the details on the new regs.
He said the C120 groupe came in and said we have a STC that will
lower the gross on our planes. It called for taking out the 2nd seat
and doing alot more. The FAA said we don't want this, and said that
no modifications could be done to meet the new catigory. I said that
I agree with that, but that an airplane that was origanly and
certified under the 1320 lbs. should be able to go back. When all it
would take is to rerig the elevator and not have to remove anything.
Then I said it's nuts for a coupe owner to have to sell his D-model
and buy a C-model to get in the light sport. He agreed and said that
once it got though that he would make my sugestion. So ther still may
be some hope. But I think that it would take a very big push from a
big grope of people to get it done. Mark
