Darick,

Beautiful picture. Be sure to send it to webmaster at http://ercoupe.org
<http://ercoupe.org/> so it can be included in the rotation of in-flight
Coupe pictures on the home page.

How did you accurately measure that "120 mph in no time in level flight"?
Be aware that airspeed indicators, when they're getting inaccurate (and it
happens a lot) often or usually show higher airspeeds than what you're
really going.

My old Coupe showed 115-118 in cruise all the time and I wondered why my
trip time was so much longer than my careful flight plans said they should
be - headwinds both ways on short trips? Doing really accurate calibration
showed it was way off and I was really going 100.3 or so, true.

The replacement airspeed indicator showed accurate airspeeds after the
appropriate calculations for density altitude, etc., (checked again with
really accurate calibration procedures).

In other words, I'm suspicious of that airspeed report in a Coupe (as
opposed to an Alon) even with an O-200. Measure twice, pay once - as
carpenters say.
