Before I send my attitude indicator in for a
re-build, I'd like to figure out what the problem might be.

Randy,

Quite a while ago I bought a DG and an Attitude Indicator out of a salvaged
airplane and wanted to see if they were any good or not. I took them to a
local avionics shop and talked a tech into hooking them up to a vacuum source
and
checking to see if they worked, with the understanding that he wasn't going to
do any paperwork on them, and that they weren't going to be installed in
anything. Cost was zero if I remember correctly. Maybe you can find a similar
deal?
