John Roach asked about paint spray systems John,
Here's a message I saved from the FlyChallenger forum where most people build their own plane and spray painting is normal. _____________________________________ _____________________________________ Not wanting to spend the bucks to get a "real" HVLP system, I started looking several months ago for a solution. I do not yet own a compressor that would keep up with the demands of a good gun and it started looking like I was going to have to bite off several hundred bucks just for the set-up. Several weeks ago while wondering around Lowes I found the Wagner Fine Spray 2400. After looking some more for a real HVLP system I decided to give the Wagner a try. I felt that they had been producing paint guns for years it might just turn out fine. I have sprayed poly-brush and poly-spray with no problems what so ever. All the worry and apprehension about spraying is now proving to be waisted time. This system is much easier than I had ever imagined. I have yet to have even so much as a sag. Just don't try to put on too much like the manual says and I think anyone could do it. Clean-up is a breeze as there are only three parts to clean and if you spray some straight MEK thru it before you take it apart it almost cleans itself. Even then you don't need any tools to take it apart, just twist the nozzle end with your hand. So far it's been working great for me, just thought I would pass on the idea to those still looking for a solution. Here's a look at the system but at Lowes it was only $98.00. Only thing I would change might be 20 more feet of hose to get the air temp down a little but since I couldn't find it and things are working well so far, who knows. http://www.gleempaint.com/fine-spray-hvlp-2400.html Special thanks to Anthony and Chick for convincing me I could actually do this.
