Thanks for your note, Tom. I am currently finishing up my first annual
and appreciate your comments. The previous owner of my bird did not
keep the logbooks updated and there are a couple of AD's that I need
to complete. I am getting my Sport Pilot certificate to enjoy the
pleasures of flying. Having confidence that I am flying an aircraft
that has been verified to be airworthy adds to my comfort level and
will hopefully allow me to build my hours economically. Even though I
have close to $4,000.00 invested in my Coupe since a stuck valve and
my annual grounded her, I am still well ahead in the search for an
affordable LSA. (The $4k included extras like 1320# Gross Weight STC,
addition of rudder pedals, repitching the prop for climb, Auto Gas
STC, new tires, nose tank removal and repair, and new tires.)

Speaking of gyros and venturi's, I have been considering removing them
from my current panel. Do you have a ballpark estimate for the weight
savings and the potential for improved cruise speed?

Thanks.

D models, if you have a LSA and intend to keep it that way , you can
not fly night or IFR on a LSA licence . Why add the drag of a venturi
and the weight of two gyros if you can"t use them???
