John, When I was rebuilding the walkways and repainting, we made a rotisserie for mine. If you are interested, I have a couple of pictures that I can send you. Unfortunately the pictures aren't the best, but I think you will get the general idea. (Basically, just as you describe your idea) We did not find that there was any undue stress placed on the airframe while rotating. It was supported at both ends, and it is very light stripped and without the gear.
