Al,
If you have old, flattened donuts, then in that case the Belleville springs would raise the tail up to the same level as would new donuts. They are a newer technology to replace the springs which flatten with age. Note that the Belleville springs sometimes age and lose their thickness. Sometimes one in the stack will collapse. They can be expected to last way longer than the donuts (and they'd better, considering how much they cost). If you have donuts, I'd suggest staying with them. Since you've added the double fork nose gear, you will probably need spacers to get the window sill to the level attitude on the ground - something that is necessary for proper crosswind takeoff and landing behavior and safety. The last I heard, Belleville springs are expensive from Univair at $578.57 for the "kit." (Query: does one SK-35 kit take care of both main gears?)
