Kevin,
I have the same figure in my coupe data--25 MPH. I also have evidence
that it's a safe figure as I have exceeded it quite a few times with no
problems. As to gusty conditions: going back to my primary training, I
was always taught to add half the gust factor to my landing speed. When
I asked if that was in miles per hour or knots, the answer was it
doesn't make any difference, just add the speed. With the ability of the
coupe to land and stick, I'm still adding half the gust factor and
perhaps a little more if it's really blowing. In conclusion, I believe
Syd and others have contributed some excellent information concerning
crosswinds, gusty conditions, you name it: just make sure that your
coupe sits level on the ground and that the trim is properly adjusted.
If you fail to do either, it may not matter if the wind is gusty or a
crosswind; you're going to have exciting landings most of the time.
