Just thought I'd add my 2 cents.... FAR 61.53 Prohibition on operations during medical deficiency...
Paragraph b "Operations that do not require a medical certificate......" "shall not act....while that person knows or has reason to know of any medical condition that would make that person unable to operate the aircraft in a safe manner....." This is the same self-certification we've had to do for many years to fly a glider without a medical. IMHO I think if your doctor says you shouldn't be flying you shouldn't. On the other hand if you have a "stable" medical condition or are taking a medication your doctor feels is not a problem then there wouldn't be one. I'm in favor of not asking too many questions.........the Feds when asked for a formal opinion usually act in the negative. One way to cover their butt. Anyway...just my opinion. Here in Connecticut there is quite an involved procedure for an MD and DMV to take away your driving privileges. Noel Anderson Canaan, CT
