Has anyone tried using plastic "sleeves" between the screws and the window. Works on my wheelchair rims and seems it might protect windows from cracking if the stress was on the sleeve instead of the window????

I went from "screwed" to "gasketed"...the windows now pop out too easily when you clean them and the gasket has shrunk to the point there is a 1/4 gap at the seam. If I had it to do all over again, I would have made a good
template for the "screwed" windows and stayed with them.

The "screwed" would start to crack around certain holes in 3-5 years...the gasketed have been in there ten years...but are scratched from putting them back in every time I clean them and forget and put too much pressure on
them.

Now, the A&P may have cut the holes a smidgen too big...I wasn't in the shop
when he did that work.
