We used to get a lot MTBE here in Colorado. Several years ago after using Mogas off and on, I decided to call the FAA and find out if it was OK to use it under my STC. After several calls and three different people at the FAA, I finally spoke with an engineer. He said it was an interesting question, but nobody had ever asked it before.
