Hi all,
Landings should be in a crab with the wings level. No need to
straighten it out before touchdown. The airplane will automatically turn
down the runway all by itself if the the rigging is correct.(window sill
level.) and speed correct. If you are on the ground and the wing is
still up, you are too fast. and the wing is still flying. A quick tap on
the brakes will give a slight differential action on the downwind brake
(the one on the ground,) This will help turn you down the runway, and
slow you down enough to stall and drop the wing. In almost 20 years
and over 1500 hrs on my Coupe, I can't ever remember that happening
to the extent that it scared me.

I had the honor of taking Bob Sanders flying with me on two separate
occasions, long ago, and he is the one who told me about the brakes,
so thats right from the horses mouth, so to speak.

Of course, I had installed spacers to make my Coupe level. If your
Coupe is not level, all bets are off.

Cheers,

Bill Coons
