It still appears to me that the best response to a Florida airplane
property tax assessment is (if you and your airplane really live outside
the state) to put the end of your thumb on the end of your nose and
wiggle your fingers while making a loud bronx cheering sound.

Then go about your business without giving it another thought.

Eventually, their futile attempts to assert taxes outside their own
jurisdiction will become so expensive that they will give up and opt for
keeping their meddling little digits out of other people's property.

Anybody see a hole in this plan?

Your loss. ANN is now one of the most highly respected e-rags in
aviation. If you choose to hold onto the old newsgroup way of thinking
(and if you really, really remember what started the whole cock fight)
you're cheating yourself.

Incidentally, keeping in mind your aspirations to become an aviation
news editor, you should note that ANN has a mostly paid staff. Maybe it
would be wise to visit the site and see what a nut job can do in a few
years with a thick skin and perseverance. Looks like he's making a very
good living to me.

While I read Aero-News Network, I keep in mind the owner Zoom Campbell's
reputation. Most of the writers and editors at ANN seem to be normal
and trustworthy.

This particular article had Zoom's stamp on it, especially in the last
paragraphs which sure looked like a Zoom outpouring.

I figured there was a good chance Zoom was right on the facts, but in
this case I, personally, felt the need to wait for verification.

It looks like Zoom did a good public service this time. Compliments to
him.
