No, you need a field approval or an STC.

Don't ask, don't tell.

Very interesting for me that the H7604 draws only 1/2 the current.
Could these be swaped with just a log book entry?

Googling around, it seems there are 3 lamps with the same form (PAR36 4 1/2"
diameter) but very different pricing and electrical characteristics.

    1. GE-4509. 100 watts power consumption, 110,000 candlepower, nominal life
25 hours, $10 from Aircraft Spruce.
    2. GE-Q4509. 100 watts power consumption, 140,000 cp, 100 hours life, $26
Aircraft Spruce. Narrower spread width than 4509.
    3. GE-H7604. 50 watts power consumption, 100,000 cp, 100 hours life, $14
Aircraft Spruce. Similar beam spread as Q4509.

See http://tinyurl.com/4n7qs8 for GE catalog listing in PDF format for above
    info.

Ed, the original lamps were no.4509, I think the halogen are listed

I recently bought an old pair of main gear farings with the

    tell me
if there is a replacement Halogen for these??
