I heard wooden props don't transmit vibrations as bad as aluminum props. They 
run softer so to say.
Good for the engine and airframe. They need more care though. You have to 
retighten then every few weeks, especially when your plane is tied outside a 
hangar.

The efficiency of wooden props is not as bad as the rumor has it. I heard 
wooden props are as good as metal props, depending on design and pitch.

Hoffman propellers are wooden cored propellers with a carbon covering. No one 
questions their efficiency.

If you are up to the challenge to keep up with care for your wooden prop, I'd 
say go for it.
