Gang

It is my belief that the rubber baffling material that is on the right and left 
sides of the cylinders should be in the "up" position, forming a tight seal of 
air over the tops of the cylinders.  I friend told me this is incorrect, it 
should be bent in the "down" position.  This doesn't seem right to me as with 
it bent down, the air will have an area to escape, down toward the manifolds. I 
believe that the left and right cowling, when closed, should touch the 
baffling, creating the seal.  Who is correct?
