Just for some favorable input, I flew from Florida to Oshkosh and back
without any new problems, if you don't count the transponder knob that
fell off. Had to get the battery recharged at Iowa City but that
problem (generator not charging the battery) has been around since I
bought the airplane. A good recharge usually lasts about six or seven
starts then its back to the trickle charger. Must get a new master
switch as everybody now seems to think that may be the problem.
I'm also glad I met Dennis up there. He was parked next to me at
Wausau and we had fun joking around. For example, he had a cutout
picture of the Geico caveman's face on a stick that he would wave at
people to let them know "even a caveman could fly it". He was going to
hold it up after landing at Oshkosh when the marshallers held up their
signs directing traffic.
Quite a guy.
