I fear some mechanics consider the word "annual" to reference the sum of money you make in a year!
Or "annual" is confused with "restoration!" As an Owner you are the individual that knows best how the aircraft is performing, and you can make up your own punch list. John Cooper sells the maintenance manuals at a very reasonable cost, buy a set for yourself and buy a set for your mechanic, copy Ed Burkheads annual check list and enclose it with the information you submit to your chosen mechanic. Every bit of removal work you can do, you won't be charged for. I have seen unscrupulous annuals go as high as $8,000 and the mechanic was smiling when he handed the owner his keys. Then there is the "Peg-Leg" annual out here on the west coast that only costs you a lunch at Denney's, you don't even have to show up with the airplane, just a log book. Educate yourself, just as Linda is doing, and be more knowledgeable then that guy with his handout. Wayne Woollard D. Wayne Woollard CPBE o=iii=()
