Coupe is a 415 C and today at 2400ft MSL , cruising at 2400RPM,
wooden climb prop, gross weight of 1320lbs, I was indicating 85 kts
or about 98 MPH. OAT 80 F. GPS read 85 kts ground speed as the wind
was calm. Engine is the 85 HP with only 173 hours on a complete major.

Jim,

Those numbers seem way off to me. That OAT is way too high. Next time, try
10,500 ft MSL and an OAT of 48 F. Ya gotta go up there to get the air
conditioning working good. As an added bonus you can really mess up the air
traffic controllers by flying that high when you call them for flight
following.
You can almost hear them thinking "What he %&#@ is an Ercoupe doing way up
there?"
