I also allways use ERCO, when I fill a Flight Plan, under Aircraft Type you
must use ERCO.

Best regards

Here in the UK I find the young controllers ask for type twice, goodness
knows what it is recorded as. I gave up 'Erco' very quickly as that was
completely unrecognised.

Funnily enough I was going to ask the forum if anyone else uses ERCO!

  Best regards,

  Mike

    All,

Lately it seems that every time I call ATC for flight following, the
controller asks me what the 4 letter identifier for an Aircoupe is. Half the
time when I tell them that it is E R C O, they either make a remark like "That
can't be right" or "How'd they come up with that?" Then I have to explain that
ERCO built the original Coupes, and yes, E R C O really is the four letter
identifier for the airplane.

Does this happen to everyone or is it just me? It's starting to border on
the comical now. What happened? Did all of the old controllers who knew what
Ercoupes were retire last year? Or is it just in the south east that the
controllers don't know an Aircoupe from a Chevy Coupe?
