I just found out two things that affect whether the new AXA policy is
comparable or not:
1) It requires any other pilot you let fly the plane to either be
pre-approved to do so, OR meet several type-specific criteria that
aren't very realistic for Ercoupes, e.g. 15 hrs. in type & a check-
out in it w/in prev. 12 months. If you never let anyone else fly
your plane, this shouldn't be an issue.
2) There was a discussion on this list sometime last year, about the
difference between policies w/ sublimits per passenger (this & AIG's
have $100,000 limit per passenger) vs. "smooth" limits. I've asked
whether he can get a quote for smooth limits but don't have the
answer yet.
