All. The FAA approved Flight Manual of a 415 D/E/G and F-1 states 56 MPH stall
speed. You'll find it in the section called Airspeed indicator Markings. So it
is Green 56 to 114 and 114 to 144 yellow. 144 is redline. The ForneyF-1A FAA
approved flight manual states stall- 58 MPH. That is due the slightly higher
gross weight. It also mentions the green and yellow arc as follows.58 to
114Gree, 114 to 144 yellow arc. The 415 C and C/D models are already covered
according to a previous message. So if in doubt, please look into your flight
manual. It is written there. Hartmut

All,The thread is so long because the answers are so hard to find. The type
certificates do not seem to address the bottom of the airspeed indicator.
However, looking at Ercoupe Information Letter No 1 - (page 2) published
January 1, 1956, under Point 3 of Changes Necessary to Convert CD to D Model,
it discusses "painting markings on the dial face of the instruments to read."
Concerning the airspeed indicator it states "Green arc from 48.5 m.p.h. to 114
m.p.h." While it may be debated that an Information Letter is not an FAA
document and may therefore be ignored, I would suggest that the 48.5 m.p.h. may
be a good place to start the green line until someone comes up with a better
suggestion.John RoachN 2427HPercy wrote:>> "FYI. from the Ercoupe A-787 Type
