Hello all, The dates for the Dayton Convention at Moraine are set for the last weekend in June. 25,26,27,28. The official Hotel is the Holiday Inn that is 3 miles from the airport. We will do our best to shuttle to and from this hotel. The cost is normally $89 a night but we have a bock of rooms for us at $65. We are also negotiating with them for the banquet. There is a Super8 across the street so shuttling there would not be any more problems than the Holiday Inn but I would encourage everyone to use the Holiday Inn and not be scattered all over Dayton unless you have your own transportation. I don't have any personal experience with either of these hotels but the Super8 does not have very good online reviews. This convention has been on, off, on again and had he dates changes and we need to show the Holiday Inn that we are serious. This will help when we get talking to them about the banquet. If we use the bock of room up we will ask for more but it is only a few months away. Let continue to use the Bob's sign up web site http://www.lowcountrybilling.com/ercoupedayton2009 and start calling the Hotel. Say you are with the Ercoupe convention. Please also indicate on the sign up site where you are staying. We also have permission to camp on the airfield so indicate on the sign up site if you are camping and if tent or what type RV. This will help us plan on the type services we need for the camper. There will be rest rooms open all night. We will check on showers if needed. If you are already signed up on the site please change your arrival date and it would be helpful to know if you are coming via Ercoupe, commercial or ground and whether you are coming even if the weather does not permit Ercouping. How many of you would want to fly down to Sportys? How many would want to fly to Urbana for lunch and a B-17 restoration tour? We could do these as a group or on our own. They are both about 35 miles from Moraine.
