I was told that painting is the better alternative. The  stick on material 
traps moisture and the mechanic reported corrosion on such  wing walks that, 
when they tried to rip off the tape, the rivets would  come with it and stick 
on 
the tape.

A good flying day in Mid-Michigan yesterday I took the  coupe up to 
13,500 ft.. Still climbing at 100 ft/min, 75mph. Upon landing  the 
right side wing walk paint had flaked a square foot piece off. I  
assume there must have been some entrapped air that lifted it off,  
probably helped along by past fuel overflows, cold temps -5F. 

Any  suggestions as to either the wing walk paint or the safety tape 
would be  the way to replace it.
