And keep a good supply of spray vinyl or leather lubricant on hand. You
will need it to insert the windows back into their tracks. Strictly follow
the instructions that come with the welts.

Be sure to check the window sides and metal edges of your sliding windows.
If they are broken, bent and/or sharp, they may be the reason your welts are
so torn up. Correct the problem before replacing the welts.

I just made new windows and installed them with new welts and am most
pleased with the results.

I believe they are called window welts. I got them from Univair or Skyport
and installed them myself. You may want a Priest, Rabbi, and Minister in
attendance.

To do it right you have to remove the seats in order to get to the very
bottom of the window tracks.

I used a particular glue approved by my A&P and long strips of cardboard to
insert into the welting in order to maintain its shape while the glue dried.

Good luck,

Roy

Importance: Low

Pretty sure both Univair and Skyport have window slide replacemments. They
are pretty difficult to install, and you will need to hire an off-duty
Priest to stand by.

Subject: [ercoupe-tech] molding for the canopy

Hi gang, its me again, asking questions that are simple to all of you. My
canopy, slides in a track that is lined with some material, such as a
molding of sorts. I am not sure if thats the right word, but maybe you know
what I mean. This material is in awfully rough shape....is there a
replacement for it, and where do I find it? Thanks for reading this.
