I've never flown one with the original brake system. Mine has Cleveland brakes
and an automotive type hand brake in the center console. It brakes very well
pulling up on the handle.

What do I know, but could the brake pedal be fitted with a much smaller
"pad" - if he is using the original brakes, he will need to use his
foot to stop (unless he has arms like Popeye).

I am certain there are others on this forum who know better than I,
but it seems to me the foot brake pedal should have been removed as
part of the rudder pedal installation.  It certainly does not sound
right that you cannot use your 'right' rudder
pedal.</x-tad-smaller></color><x-tad-smaller>
