Hi Al,

I don't want to be presumptuous, but you might recheck the motor mount bolt
torque.? I replaced my rubber bushings a few months ago.? As specified in our
service manual, I initially torqued the bolts between 60 to 80 inch-pounds, ran
the engine, and checked the torque.? They were substantially looser.? I also
checked them after my next few flights and they required further attention.? It
is noteworthy that although they specify a torque of 60-80 inch-pounds (which
seems a bit low to me) the instructions go on to say "readjust these bolts to
obtain minimum engine vibration"? All of this is on page 43.

Cheers,

Bill

Al said:? I had all new nuts bolts
and shocks installed on the engine and they did not help the vibration. My
A&P said that a better system of shock mounting is needed. He said it would
be quite a job to get it approved. I think the cost to have this done would be
very high. I am going to fly it as is for now and see if the vibration reduces
as the engine breaks in.
