"It was corroded for about 2 feet near the tail cone. I would like to install a
new wire,But I wonder how to clean out the old cable/tube. Any suggestions?"

Nick.

If the Corrosion was bad, I'd consider replacing the last part of the cable
housing. In my Ercoupe, the cable housing is split into 2 or three pieces and
you would only replace the last one.

If the corrosion was not that bad, I'd use the old wire to loosen up the last
pieces of corrosion. Then flush with oil and install the new wire by running it
through grease before it enters the housing.

However, to do the job efficient, you better remove the rear part of the cable
housing. And if you do that, you might as well replace the old one.

o-ring was bad and that main was dry . The nose was nearly dry as well. That
snap ring looks like it will be a bear to put back on. Any tricks?
