Try a blow dryer.

It generally does not create enough heat to further shrink the fabric.

Dacron fabric shrinks at 225 to 250 degrees F.

That being said, start at an edge of the decal, warm it up and peel it up with
your fingernail. As it loosens pull it back on itself and limit the heat to the
seam between the decal and fabric and continue with a steady pull, might be a 2
man job with the big decal. Keep the blowdryer moving.

Kind of like skinning game but using heat instead of a knife.

Watch for "puckers" in the fabric, it is a sign that the fabric is shrinking.

Another possibility is with a trial of different solvents. Avoid laquer
thinner, mek or acetone types. (most dopes are acrylic laquer derivatives)
Experiment in a hidden area like under the wing to centersection fairing. if
the color comes off on a Q-tip soaked in the test solvent and rubbed vigorously
on the fabric don't use it.

Try mineral spirits, enamal reducer or xyol. When you find the one that
desolves the decal glue and not the paint (dope) use the same proceedure as
above but with the solvent being the "knife"
