Rick:

It’s negative ground. The negative wire may be a flat, braided cable. The
positive wire goes to the master switch.  Do not reverse them.  Any installed
electronics would be at risk.

Subject: [ercoupe-tech] Battery installation:

Question:  I removed my battery for replacement, and upon looking to install
the new one made the A-HA realization that there is not a red and black wire to
tell positive and negative.  So I am not sure which wire goes where - or even
if this is a positive or negative ground system.  It is a 1946-C Serial number
1009.

Does anyone know the best solution to this?. And what damage could I expect
hooking it up wrong.

Thanks for any input -- Rick Green
