I agree, I find little difference and unless it is really cold I aways have 
them down. I will say I did see a little bit more drag on my Ercoupe that had 
the large baggage compartment over the one with the original sloping hat shelf 
but not that much. The one with the large compartment also had a flat 
windshield whereas my one with the hat shelf is bubble.
