Careful here. I tried to change the angle of these brackets ones and I could not move them without loosening the bolts.
I suspect some arresting surface here. I would at least loosen one bracket completely to make sure, I am not messing up anything. These U brackets can be tapped lightly with a hammer back and forth to change the alignment of the cowl fasteners usually without having to loosen the bolts that mount them to the firewall. Alan.
