Ercoupe N3105H 415C LSA Compliant
ONLY 500 hours total time! ONLY 25 hours since Major! Just annualed May 2009! This one is really sweet! See all the logs at: http://geoffdavis.smugmug.com/gallery/8190944_wmxUw/1/535071592_d8Eic See more than 100 pictures at: http://www.smugmug.com/gallery/8255875_4Z8JW/1/540099466_pK9Y6 This has to be one of the lowest time Ercoupes in existence. 63 years old and only 500 hours on the airframe. All the logs, dating back to her test flight in 1946 to her annual inspection in May, 2009, are all there. 05H did not fly from 1969 to 1981. She has no damage history and this is quite evident when you see the plane. She is as straight and true as can be. Most Coupes have seen some hard landings or other mishaps over the years which have wrinkled some of the skins or damaged a rib or stringer. Not the case with 05H. Look at the pictures of the fuselage shot from the back and marvel at the perfectly smooth lines. The first time I flew her she was straight and level, hands off. The rigging is perfect. From a distance, you will think this aircraft is polished aluminum but don't worry about hours of polishing as she actually has a beautiful paint job that simulates the polished metal look, without the effort! The wings are covered in Razorback fabric which is in excellent condition. Razorback fabric was touted as being the only fabric that will last a lifetime, as does aluminum, and by the look of these wings, I believe that to be true. The landing lights are the original design built into the main landing gear fairings which maintains the marvelous art-deco look of the period. This is further enhanced by the original bullet shaped navigation lights on the wingtips. The leading edge of the vertical stabilizers has a very light rubberized coating which protects them from dents and chips caused by rocks thrown back by the prop. The tail height is at 75 inches, right where it is supposed to be. The windshield is in great conditions as are all the other windows (one of the rear windows has some slight crazing which is visible in one of the pictures). When the engine was overhauled, the STC was purchased allowing for the 0-200 crankshaft, connecting rods and pistons, making 05H perform just like she had the Continental 0-200 under the cowling. The old pull starter was removed and replaced with the Sky-Tec lightweight starter. The empty weight was also reduced by replacing the standard battery with the high power, low weight sealed Odyssey battery. A new Airtex interior was installed in 2007 in a two-tone gray, matching the paint scheme. The panel is very original with the right hand glove box still in place. The left hand box was removed (but can easily be replaced if you desire). In its place is a panel mounted Garmin 196. In October of 2008 an Icom IC-A210 communication radio was installed along with a new antenna. The Icom is under warrantee through October of 2010. This radio has all the bells and whistles including flip-flop frequency, memory channels and built in intercom. There are push-to-talk switches for both the pilot and co-pilot. A jack to plug in your handheld is under the panel, in case of an emergency. All the instruments and gauges work. (Note: The airspeed indicator is reading high and needs to be adjusted or compensated for.) A yellow tagged King KT-76 transponder was recently installed as was the Ameri-King AK-350 encoder. An Ameri-King AK-450 ELT was installed last year, as well. The old Goodyear brakes were replaced with Clevelands (by STC) for plenty of stopping power. In 2007 the wings were removed for an inspection of the center section. It was clean as a whistle...absolutely zero corrosion. I will list the few flaws I can find with 05H and I have tried to show them in the pictures. 1. Slight crazing on one rear window 2. Small rip in the window welting 3. Small scratch on one of the sliding windows 4. Small flaw in sheet metal near the fuel pump (about the size of a dime) 5. Few small scratches and chips in the paint (very few) 6. One of the navigation lights has the wrong color lens (replacement ordered). This is a really nice LSA compliant Ercoupe. It is a REAL LSA ERCOUPE. It was never converted to a D model and "switched back" illegally. I would rate the paint as a solid 8.5 and the interior the same. It's not an Oshkosh Show winner but is definitely a head turner where ever it goes. The weight and balance shows an empty weight of 815 pounds and the gross weight is 1260. This can easily be increased to 1320 with a $200 STC. Price is $33,500 firm. The plane is located at 7FL6, Spruce Creek Airport near Daytona Beach, Florida. I encourage you to come see it, with your mechanic, if you wish. From prior experience, I know that a really nice C model like this will sell fast so if you are serious, please keep that in mind. I am a CFII and will check out the buyer, if requested. I will ferry this plane anywhere in the lower US for $200 a day, plus expenses, plus an airline ticket home. Contact Glen Davis at 917 297 1111 or [email protected]. Note: This past week I had the brake master cylinder rebuilt as the brakes were not holding at 1700 RPM. They now hold the plane at full static RPM (2300). I also noticed a nose wheel shimmy on landing. That will be addressed by the AxP prior to the sale. Glen Davis 917 297 1111 www.ishootpictures.com
