Thanks for the info. I have all new tires. At my age they will probably last me 
to the end. If the problem is not the taxi spring then adding more spacers 
appears to be the only solution. Bill Coons sent me instructions on how to

        If the main tires are old and worn, I suggest the next time you replace 
them with Desser Monster retread tires that have an extra inch of rubber on 
them and it will also help keep your tail up.
        As aircraft tires do not wear due to extensive flexing like a car's 
does but burn off rubber on landings, retreads are the best option. The 
sidewalls are perfectly flexy even with a 4 ply tire ( $50 each ) but there is 
additional sacrificial rubber to burn off, making them the longest lasting 
option.

        Adding more spacers to the MLG just makes the springy donut effect 
stiffer so they do not compress as much. The older steel gear is better because 
you can add an extra donut to make it taller and not make it stiffer. But you 
don't have that option.

        Your nosewheel taxi spring is a good approach.
