No Tig -welding here. This needs to be patched.

My nose bowl has been patched several times. The vibrations tend to harden the
soft aluminum and then the cracks will come.

Rivet a patch onto it with full aluminum rivets - no cherry max.

The problem is to find a suitable piece of soft aluminum that you'll have to
hammer into shape.

Subject: [ercoupe-tech] Crack in Nosebowl [1 Attachment]

[Attachment(s) from Doug Wright included below]

Photo attached.

At a recent annual, the A&P stop-drilled a crack in the aluminum nosebowl of my
415C. As the picture shows, the crack has continued over into the air intake.

Other than replacing the nosebowl, any suggestions? Would tig welding be an
option?

Thanks,
Doug
