Hey Doug: As Hartmut said, No to TIG. A good metal smith can make a patch  
using flush rivets that will do the job very well.

At a recent annual, the A&P  stop-drilled a crack in the aluminum nosebowl 
of my 415C.  As the  picture shows, the crack has continued over into the 
air  intake.

Other than replacing the nosebowl, any suggestions?   Would tig welding be 
an  option?
