Kim,

Wheel pants on the coupe are strictly ascetic.  They claim to add only 3mph to
cruise, and that is optimistic.  I flew a lot of hours with them on, and a lot
with them off.  I couldn't see a noticeable difference in performance.

I like the look of the pants and I like the look without.  I chose to return to
the regular gear fairings mainly due to the hassle with the pants.  In snowy
climates (like here in MN) it is a good idea to remove them every winter.
Taking them on and off wasn’t exactly easy.  Mine didn’t have very good access
to the tire stems, and that made adding air a pain in the neck.  And I think I
saved 15lbs or so getting rid of them.

I don’t know if anyone is still making them but used ones come up for sale now
and again.  I sold mine on ebay and got around $500.00.

Good Luck,

Dan

Are they worth the cost/effort? Where do I find some?
