My nose strut faring broke open in flight yesterday and spread out like a
fan.  Heard it pop.  Slowed me down considerably.  Made the plane want to
turn and gave me cross control symptoms.   Now, I plan to simply cut it off
and do without the faring.    I deduce that this is permissible by the
number of Coupes that do without, already.  Am I correct?

Does anybody have a feel for how much speed this will cost me?
