I purchased my coupe 4 months ago. I had not flown in a while and I went 300 miles to pay $17500 cash for my coupe. Did 3 t&g's and headed home. Immedeatly I noticed that nothing in the cockpit worked.Fortunatly the noisy thing up front did. The trim cable was siezed. My knowledge of the lakes in my state allowed me to navigate the 385 miles to my new airport. I have not flown it since. I have had a blast fixing the many half assed things that were signed off as good. I Trust my work much more than I do any other mechanic. Im flying the aircraft,I need to know what makes her tick. With the help of all the guys on this forum I have been able to repair all my systems and make the little plane ready to safely fly again . This week I will start to fly her again. Time to get to know her. I still feel as though I got a good deal and love the little thing. 40 years ago I wondered whoin the world would be caught even sitting in one , but times change. Airplanes are not investments , they are toys. They should be purchased with toy money or left alone. There are much simpler , cheaper toys ,but none (to me) are as fulfilling.
