Bob, I tend to agree with you, but . . . 1. That discussion occurred on Flyin and I thank the starter of the thread for putting the discussion on Flyin. Flyin is where we discuss subjects we'd talk about at a flyin and isn't absolutely related to Coupes and flying. But, we normally don't want to wander into politics and other way-off-topic and inflammatory subjects. 2. You accidentally responded to tech where this discussion does not belong. It was a flyin discussion. 3. When I first saw this subject, I started to squelch a moderated-first-time-poster message on the subject. But, I saw that it was a reply and there were already messages on the flyin forum about this subject. It IS very much off topic on our forum - even for flyin. We should, I think, not go this far afield from Coupes and aviation. 4. The discussion stayed pretty civil. 5. I learned some things from members who live or have lived overseas. 6. Maybe most important, the way off-topic discussion showed signs of tapering off rather than escalating. 7. I think you'll find that you get a separate digest from flyin from the one you get from the tech forum. 8. What goes on on flyin, stays on flyin. Anything else we say about this should be on flyin, not here. Thanks. Ed
