I completed my ASES last year at Jack Brown's. I've decided to purchase a
second airplane to be kept permanently on floats. My choice right now is a
J3 Cub on Aqua or Edo floats with at least a C85 engine. Electric starter
would be nice too versus my portable "Armstrong" starter. I have access to
Lake Palestine in east Texas for using the airplane recreationally.

My question revolves around the Ercoupe on floats. I know that at least one
existed as depicted in the marketing literature and some articles from the
40's or 50's. There is of course the photo over NYC and then I remember
another with one at a dock.

My understanding from past posts on the list, the float equipped Ercoupe
never made it. I believe it crashed. Does anyone have any history on the
situation and any other information about subsequent success stories about
the Ercoupe on floats.

Bottom line, I will be very happy with a J3, but an Ercoupe configured for
straight float operation would be unique.

Thanks,
John
