In my opinion something like Corrosion X would be a better choice to delay
corrosion and be
able to monitor in the future.
1. I don't believe it can be assured that all moisture was removed.
2. There is the possibility that moisture can re-enter through a scratch
or untreated area.
3. The protective coating could/will mask any spread of the original
corrosion.
4. Of course this would not be acceptable for exterior painted areas.
5. Corrosion X is easier to use and no, I don't sell it.

The only way to delay intergranular corrosion is to completely seal the
surface of the part from moisture.
