Dave, a new member, is having problems with his mail showing up on the forum.
Dave, First, make sure you are sending to the correct address: [email protected] I'd urge you to make an address book entry and put in the e-mail address. I use a short "name" for the entry so I can type it fast - then the program looks up the actual address for me with no mistakes. I use Ety for tech, Efy for flyin and Etp for trading post. Those make unique character strings in my address book so there's no ambiguity. Then, make sure you have the forum included in your address. If you hit <reply> to a message the address line will only have the sender of the original message and not the forum. That cuts down on "me too" messages on the forum. Since there's no need to send two copies to people, mostly, I usually reply just to the forum. That's easy, I just hit reply, delete their address and type "Ety." Or, I sometimes hit reply-all then delete the unwanted addresses. [Danger, Danger - getting in the habit of using reply-all can zap you if you ever write unkind words about anyone!] (Exception to my rule about sending just to the person OR the forum: if someone asks a technical question and seems to need the answer promptly then I send to the person and the forum. I don't know if they get their forum mail by digest, web page reading or individual maill without looking it up. This is an example where I'll send the response to both you and to the forum to benefit lurkers.) Finally, we've seen a phenomenon where people who receive individual messages don't get the reflection copy of the messages they send to the forum. It's usually rare but we've seen it on this forum with Yahoo and with our previous, totally separate server. By going to the forum we page, you can check to see if it did show up there. Also keep in mind that first time posters are moderated till we see that you are not a spammer so there is normally a delay, sometimes long, before first messages from someone get posted.
